  • Installing Beam Pockets

If you are using styrofoam to block out for a beam pocket, cut a slot through the blockout with a drywall saw before placing the block in the form. Place a washer on the end of the Ram-Snap and slide it through the block. Just before comming to the end of the Ram-Snap install the clip behind the washer. Place the blockout in the form. Measure the location of the protruding Ram-Snap and cut a slot in the side of the block and pull the Ram-Snap through. Slide a board with a 1/2" hole over the Ram-Snap, and using the tool apply pressure against the board. Add a clip between the board and the tool, and your beam pocket is securely installed! After the wall is poured, remove the clip and the board and cut the stryofoam form, equal to the blockout material. Slide the styrofaom out and with a hammer, tap the Ram-Snap, to finish cleaning out the pocket. If you are using wood to form the pockets use the same method!

    Simple, easy, and effective!
